The ETH difficulty bomb is expected to hit 2022/09/19 07:56:17

The actual time the bomb hits can vary slightly due to the nature of the code.

Ever since December 8, 2021 the bomb has been ticking. The effects have been seen in block times and difficulty blips.

The graph below shows blocks produced per week. Notice the sharp declines.

The ETH difficulty bomb is one of the final stages of The Merge. A difficulty bomb means the network difficulty will become larger much faster, meaning blocks are harder to find. This disincentives miners even more.

Ethereum miners, please consider making the switch to our very own Ethereum Classic Mining Pool. We have servers located in the USA, EU, ASIA, AU, NZ and more to come!

Happy mining everyone.
